Mood Monthly: Rust & Terracotta
Today we’re launching a new series, Mood Monthly, to bring you inspiration from a particular color, material, or shape, and adding in some pieces to help you get the look. Starting off, we’re exploring a bold rust and clay color. We’re going to love this vibe deep dive as much as you!
We’re seeing this orange color pop up in interior design all over sofas, accent decor, and velvet and linen textiles alike. This color trend can go as red as a spice color, as orangey as a nutmeg or terracotta, or as light as an amber, and each shade can pull different character to a space. Rust is a hue that’s creeping into a lot of dark and moody rooms as an unexpected burst of saturated color. It is also being used vastly across Boho styles in a light and airy, colorful application, and its starting to crop up in California Casual and Heritage looks in the form of textiles and vintage rugs. What we’re loving is that it is unexpected and bold, but also really versatile between modern and traditional styles. Rust and clay can adapt to feel really moody and formal, organic and natural, or really fun and colorful.
