High Point Market: Trends on the Rise

Our whole team jumped on a plane this year and saw the sights of High Point Spring Market in High Point, NC. We found new products, new vendors, new collaborations, and new trends on the rise and we are excited to report back all the new coming to interiors! Come along on our journey through HPMKT!

We compiled a list of all the common things we saw across showrooms and styles. Things that have been popular and still will be, and a few things we are just starting to see on the scene:

  • Scalloped Edges – everywhere in seating, tables, hardware, joinery, pillows, you name it!
  • Burl Wood– both light and dark wood tables and casegoods
  • Textile-Wrapped Furniture – grasscloth, linen, raffia, leather, and faux shagreen wrapping furniture
  • Contrast Welts & Trim – on seating, pillows, and draperies galore
  • Cordless Lamps – beyond table lamps to floor lamps, and even some sconces
  • Pleats & Ruffles– on skirts for chairs, sofas, pillow trim, lampshades, and draperies of course
  • Checks, plaids, & gingham – classic square patterns on everything with textiles!
  • Solids with depth – single colors on upholstered seating and rugs that have lots of variation and movement
  • Textures– in textiles, in lighting, in accessories, we see depth being added to neutral looks
  • Pastels & florals– all over furniture, walls, textiles, and accessories
  • Colors– Chocolate Brown, Green, and Purple – spotted on walls, furniture, and accessories
  • Sphere Pillows – a fun accessory in almost every showroom
  • Wicker, Rattan, Jute, & Caning– these natural textures are incorporated into furniture, lighting, and accessories in almost every showroom
  • Mohair & extra-shaggy textiles – seen on seating, pillows, rugs- we started referring to this as “teddy bear vibe”
  • Curves, Arches, & Spindles–  turned legs, contoured table tops, and arches incorporated into furniture, lighting, and accessories
  • Sneaky Recliners- beautiful lounge chairs that you wouldn’t even know can recline, and are even motorized!
  • Tufting– from its humble beginnings on sofas & headboards, channel tufting has spread to be on chairs, ottomans, pillows, and so much more

But first, let’s just see some pretty showrooms!
